In the year 2007, when the city was restructuring its skyline with piercing towers, we decided on creating a structure that focused on the environment instead. Our aim was to deliver an exquisite client experience that met international standards, as well as create a workplace that resonated with their leadership status.
One Indiabulls Centre is a landmark work of architecture. Its design is exemplary, both modern and rooted in the character of its surroundings. It is a mark of perfection, in every square inch of space it occupies. Its emergence uplifted the face of the locality, giving it a new lease of life by paving the path for other high end business and residential projects to follow suit.
Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay has been an ever evolving city. The story began when Bombay was 7 separate islands way back in 3rd Century BC. Many rulers conquered the islands over a period of several centuries before they were gifted as dowry to Charles II of England for marrying Catherine of Braganza, daughter of King John IV of Portugal. Charles II then leased the islands to the English East India Company in 1668 prompting a long lasting affair of the British with the city.
The city became a major trading town in the mid-19th Century and witnessed a series of infrastructural advancements, the most significant among those is the creation of extended railway lines running up to the far corners of the city. The British also created several Victorian landmarks in prominent places across the city, seen even to date.
One Indiabulls Centre is an architectural delight created by Hafeez Contractor and Anupam De. The immensely talented duo share credit for being able to envision the management’s rousing ambition to develop Mumbai’s first truly international business hub.
One Indiabulls Centre seamlessly integrates function and design. Stretching across nearly 10 acres with two towers mounted atop a vast podium, Tower A leans at an amazing 5.5 degrees more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Tower B has capsule elevators, cut-outs and a unique architectural span of 35 meters. Unlike conventional commercial complexes, the higher floors allow for scenic views of the cityscape. The office spaces are designed to be open and flexible with breakout areas. The building boasts a sustainable design which aims to conserve energy and other natural resources.
2008 was the year. The global economy had plunged into recession. The impact on us though remained minimal as we were flushed with funds and conviction. We continued with the construction of One Indiabulls Centre with the most advanced construction equipments, cutting-edge technologies and finest quality raw materials.
A handpicked team of very adept technical and design professionals from across the world ensured that there was high efficiency with zero tolerance for lapses throughout the project. It was a cherished dream met in a record time. In 2 years, Tower 1 was ready for fit-outs for NDTV, British Council, Aditya Birla and several other companies to move in. Tower 2 with its two wings and a fully-powered business centre is currently occupied by business giants such as Morgan Stanley, Tata Motors, Bloomberg and Reliance.
